Albumkritik

Jaguares' previous disc, the morbidly melodramatic Cuando la Sangre Galopa, transposed arena rock into the Mexican vernacular through the wounded power of singer-songwriter Saul Hernendez's paper-thin voice. El Primer Instinto is that album's counterpart, an airy, semi-acoustic collection that finds Hernendez reinventing the band's songs through the addition of a mariachi ensemble, a salsa orchestra and a string ensemble. Eclectic fun for the entire familia.
