John Anderson is a new traditional honky-tonk musician who first found inspiration in the recordings of Merle Haggard. John Anderson predated the whole urban cowboy sound (and movie) by a couple years with his city savvy honky-tonk songs. Before John Anderson got his big break in country music, he was a contractor who worked on the roof of the Grand Ole Opry. John Anderson's hit single "Swingin'" is the best selling country single in the history of Warner Bros. Records. John Anderson listened to FM radio rock 'n' roll until discovering a Merle Haggard record changed his life (and his taste).
