The ultimate arena-ballad make out band, Journey was massively succesful in the late 1970s and early '80s. The act started as a bluesy fusion outfit headed by keyboardist Gregg Rolie. Then they hired vocalist Steve Perry. Early hit "Lights," an ode to L.A., was changed when a producer thought "the Bay" sounded better. Since their comeback album in 1996, Perry has refused to record or play with the band. Baseball's World Champion 2006 Chicago White Sox adopted "Don't Stop Believing" as its theme song.
