January 7th, 1948 is the starting point of sentimental rock's smartest son Kenny Loggins. Producer Jim Messina spotted his talent in the beginning 70's and the two ended up a very successful duo until 1976. The split was the spin-off for Loggins' solo career, which brought him hit singles as "Whenever I Call You Friend". Besides his own records, he also contributed many songs to soundtracks, most famously his happy-go-lucky pop tune "Footloose". Children's records were the consequence of waning album sales up until 2003's "It's About Time".
