Patrick O'Hearn
Though a top pop/jazz bassist, it was O'Hearn's sonically innovative solo synthwork (1985-) that made his name.
Early in his career, O'Hearn played jazz bass with Joe Henderson, Frank Zappa, Group 87 and Missing Persons.
O'Hearn has appeared in collaboration with Steve Roach on "The Ambient Expanse" (1999) and "On This Planet" (1997).
O'Hearn's "Ancient Dreams" (1985) was a key release for Peter Baumann's then-fledgling Private Music label.
O'Hearn's ultimate intent with instrumental music composition was to score films (as he did with 1992's "White Sands.")
