Not many folks were familiar with Shrimp Boat, so Sam Prekop's voice was a cool revelation on this 1994 debut. Combine Archer Prewitt (from the Coctails) and his jazzy, clean guitar style and John McEntire (concurrently in Tortoise) and his exacting, precise drumming, and you've got an amazing group. Opener "Jacking The Ball" rarely fails to please.
